KOS, KOV and City-USE cooperate on Redispatch 2.0 and agree to use the FuturePowerFlow software from energy & meteo systems
More than 50 municipal and local utilities in Bavaria involved
Oldenburg, 1 June 2021 – The flexible all-in-one solution FuturePowerFlow from energy & meteo systems is establishing itself with more and more network operators: By means of the municipal utility cooperations KOS, KOV and City-USE, several dozen municipal and community utilities in Bavaria have agreed on a joint software service for the implementation of Redispatch 2.0 requirements. The cooperation, which has been contractually sealed in the end of May 2021, is supported by the management consultancy E-Bridge Consulting GmbH from Bonn in terms of content and organization.
As a Software-as-a-Service solution from the Oldenburg-based energy service provider energy & meteo systems, FuturePowerFlow connects the various control rooms and maps almost the entire redispatch process. The numerous plants are controlled via a Virtual Power Plant. The convenient service approach of the modular redispatch platform offers a valuable time advantage and eliminates the need for costly software development and implementation at the municipal utilities. "With FuturePowerFlow as a high-performance redispatch system and E-Bridge as a reliable and competent consultant, the cooperations can offer their municipal utilities an attractive offer for the successful implementation of Redispatch 2.0. This again shows the added value of the cooperations for the municipal utilities", as Roland May from City-USE explains.
The background to the conclusion of the agreement is the amendment to the Grid Expansion Acceleration Act (NABEG 2.0), which comes into force on October 1, 2021. It requires that renewable energy plants with a capacity of at least 100 kilowatts also be taken into account in the management of grid congestion. This process, called Redispatch 2.0, places high demands on the planning of municipal utilities and distribution system operators due to the enormous number of plants and the associated immense amounts of data.
The new complexity of future congestion management requires powerful software with compatible interfaces. "Thanks to FuturePowerFlow, we can master the extreme data flow with confidence and automatically process the extensive grid, standing and forecast data in a matter of seconds," emphasizes Achim Thiel from KOS. "We are confident that the participating municipal utilities will be able to successfully meet all redispatch requirements by the deadline of early October 2021 based on the solution provided by the cooperation companies in collaboration with E-Bridge and energy & meteo systems," adds Christoph Diranko from KOV.
